Cosmic Purple

Cosmic Purple is a very diverse glitter in color, reflection, and in flake size. It mainly displays a rich purple or ruby red-like hue but you can find emerald greens, black, royal blue, orange, and pink color variations. Flakes are either very fine almost dust-like or just fine. All reflected colors are rich in hue and the hue appears stronger over a white background while those same hues have a “glow” effect over a dark background. This glitter quickly adds dimension and variety to any of its many applications.

Silver Starlight

Silver Starlight is a fine glitter that has a rainbow reflective effect under light. Depending on the light angle and intensity, you can expect to see all the bright color hues. When the glitter is scarcely applied it it loses its silver tone and what can be seen is a variety of colorful reflections. As the glitter thickens it starts to appear more silver while retaining its reflective properties. The glitter appears more silver over a black background and the fine particles are easier to see with the naked eye. A white background results in the softer colors in the glitter to become more visible.

Galactic Grape

Galactic Grape is a very rich and bright purple mica with highly reflective particles radiating back under light displaying a pearl-like effect. The greater the intensity of the light source the more reflective the particles become. Thin applications result in a lighter purple color with plenty of shimmer. Thicker applications create more depth and result in lots of dark to light hues of the rich purple. Compacting this mica for a metallic effect.

White

White is vibrant pearlescent mica with a very subtle, but easily visible metallic presence. This mica is very consistent in color with any thickness of applications. The stronger the light intensity cast upon it the more shimmer that can be expected. Very thin applications allow the metallic particles to pick up more color from its surroundings creating a lot of dimension whereas thicker applications will appear whiter. You can create your own custom color with this mica in resin by mixing in your favorite Dispersion or Intense colors!

FAQs

What temperature does Artist Resin work best in?  Artist Resin works best in temperatures between 70-75 degrees F.

What is the working time of Artist Resin? The working time depends on the temperature of the resin and the temperature of the room you are working in.  If the temperature is around 72 degrees F, you should have 30-45 minutes of working time.  The cooler the resin and the room, the longer the working time.  The warmer the resin and the room, the shorter the working time.

How long is the cure time?  Artist Resin will cure to the touch in 8-12 hours and fully cure in 24 hours.  If shipping a recently cured project, it is recommended to wait at least 72 hours before shipping.

What is the difference between Casting Resin  and Artist Resin?  Casting Resin is FDA Compliant and VOC free, and made for thicker pours from 1/4″ to 2″ thick.  Ideal for petri molds, river tables, jewelry making.  It is also a bit softer so in some cases, we recommend doing a topcoat with Artist Resin the next day to create a durable shell for items such as coasters.

Artist Resin is FDA compliant and VOC free as well, thought it is made for pours less than 1/4″ thick.  Ideal for resin art, countertops, serving trays, geodes, glitter tumblers, and marble paint tumblers.  It is very hard and durable.

How does it react to the heat? Artist Resin is heat resistant up to 500 degrees F.  You should not expose Artist Resin to prolonged heat sources, this could amber the resin.  For example: hanging a piece directly over a fire where it is exposed to long periods of high heat.

My pump isn’t working.  This means that your resin is a little cool and should be warmed up before use, especially part A of the resin.  Warming also reduces bubbles when dispensing.

How can I get rid of bubbles? 1. Ensure that resin is warm when mixing.  Warm resin will mix easier without creating as many bubbles.

2. Torch the resin with an appropriate torch device.

Can I use a hairdryer or heat gun to pop bubbles in poured resin? A hairdryer or heatgun will produce sufficient heat to pop bubbles in resin.  We recommend using an automatic lighting torch attachment with a propane canister.  Even a small artist torch will not provide enough heat to pop bubbles.  (See official FAQ page for picture/product reference and additional FAQs!)

My resin got really hot and clumpy.  Resin cures by heat- when you mix up resin you should pour it immediately onto your work.  If you leave a mass of mixed resin in a container, it will build up heat rapidly and also dramatically reduces working time. (See FAQs page for full answer.)

Is Artist Resin FDA compliant? Yes, all of our resins are FDA compliant (FDA 21 CFR 175.300).
