FAQs
What temperature does Artist Resin work best in? Artist Resin works best in temperatures between 70-75 degrees F.
What is the working time of Artist Resin? The working time depends on the temperature of the resin and the temperature of the room you are working in. If the temperature is around 72 degrees F, you should have 30-45 minutes of working time. The cooler the resin and the room, the longer the working time. The warmer the resin and the room, the shorter the working time.
How long is the cure time? Artist Resin will cure to the touch in 8-12 hours and fully cure in 24 hours. If shipping a recently cured project, it is recommended to wait at least 72 hours before shipping.
What is the difference between Casting Resin and Artist Resin? Casting Resin is FDA Compliant and VOC free, and made for thicker pours from 1/4″ to 2″ thick. Ideal for petri molds, river tables, jewelry making. It is also a bit softer so in some cases, we recommend doing a topcoat with Artist Resin the next day to create a durable shell for items such as coasters.
Artist Resin is FDA compliant and VOC free as well, thought it is made for pours less than 1/4″ thick. Ideal for resin art, countertops, serving trays, geodes, glitter tumblers, and marble paint tumblers. It is very hard and durable.
How does it react to the heat? Artist Resin is heat resistant up to 500 degrees F. You should not expose Artist Resin to prolonged heat sources, this could amber the resin. For example: hanging a piece directly over a fire where it is exposed to long periods of high heat.
My pump isn’t working. This means that your resin is a little cool and should be warmed up before use, especially part A of the resin. Warming also reduces bubbles when dispensing.
How can I get rid of bubbles? 1. Ensure that resin is warm when mixing. Warm resin will mix easier without creating as many bubbles.
2. Torch the resin with an appropriate torch device.
Can I use a hairdryer or heat gun to pop bubbles in poured resin? A hairdryer or heatgun will produce sufficient heat to pop bubbles in resin. We recommend using an automatic lighting torch attachment with a propane canister. Even a small artist torch will not provide enough heat to pop bubbles. (See official FAQ page for picture/product reference and additional FAQs!)
My resin got really hot and clumpy. Resin cures by heat- when you mix up resin you should pour it immediately onto your work. If you leave a mass of mixed resin in a container, it will build up heat rapidly and also dramatically reduces working time. (See FAQs page for full answer.)
Is Artist Resin FDA compliant? Yes, all of our resins are FDA compliant (FDA 21 CFR 175.300).

This Medium Viscosity Epoxy Resin works great for adding protection to my artwork CD & Vinyl pieces. When applying to vinyl pieces, I use a heat gun to release the few bubbles that I get after mixing. Resin finish is perfect for my Artwork, whether pieces are being displayed, or used as a coaster.

CCDIY is the best Epoxy Resin I have ever used. Not only are all of their products great quality but the customer service is amazing. On my last order I ordered over 100 alcohol inks that they had marked down in clearance and accidentally received the regular version of a color instead of the shimmer that I had ordered. Not only did they immediately send out the correct ones but they also let me keep the wrong ones to make up for the mistake. That was definitely not expected or necessary but it shows just how much they care about their customers and their satisfaction. They also responded very fast when I initially emailed them. I have been ordering from them for the last couple years and I will definitely be a faithful customer to them. Thank you again for the amazing products and customer service.

The best resin I have used, low to no smell. No bubbles or easy to get rid of, I have only bought ccdiy since I tried a couple years ago.

There’s just not a better resin on the market. I’ve tried almost all of them! This resin is the PERFECT consistency for almost anything that you could need it for. It’s amazing in tumblers, in molds, as a flood coat in artwork and 3D pieces, etc. it loves warmth and humidity so if you live in an environment where other resins may struggle, you are going to LOVE this one. Make sure you grab and use the CCDIY torch and green camping propane can to eliminate bubbles for that perfect, glass like shine.

This resin is the best I’ve ever used. The shine it leaves is unbelievable until you see it for yourself!

This is the best resin I have used. No bubbles if you’re patient and wait a few minutes after mixing. High UV resistance, no yellowing after one year so far.

Medium viscosity it my favorite epoxy to use as a final coat for my tumblers. I also like to use it when I make molds and keychains. The bubbles pop easily with a torch and the finish it hard and shiny. It’s perfect for tumbler making
Renebott –
Medium voc is my all time favorite and go too. I’ve used it for around 3 years and CCDIY is the only epoxy I use. The shine is phenomenal and bubbles are easy to pop if you mixed to fast.

I will start out with this, I have been using epoxy for a few years now and I have tried about four or five different epoxies before I found CCDIY. This resin is a dream! I live in FLA and I struggled awful with the humidity and epoxy. It was a NIGHTMARE! I was at my wits end and really ready to give up on epoxy all together and I came across an ad for CCDIY and I thought what’s one more epoxy to try. I am so glad that I did! I have not looked back since and that was a few years now! I recommend it to anyone who will listen! I have purchased sample sized bottles and given them away in goody bags and my giveaways in my lives. I do a lot of resin art on wood cuts outs, molds and this resin is FLAWLESS! Hardly any micro bubbles and when I do get a few I just pop them with my CCDIY Torch that I now proudly own as well! I cannot recommend this product enough! I now have went on to purchase the Fast Set, Deep Pour, Artist Resin, Hard Cast Resin as well. The only down side is that I go through so much of it LOL The glass like finish cannot be compared to anything else! Just buy it, you will not be sorry. I do recommend heating it up a little first. I purchased a baby bottle warmer and put all my gallon bottles right into other bottles and warm them up in the warmer and seriously no issues! CCDIY for life. Customer Service is top notch as well. Thank you CCDIY!! Jennifer Smith from Dragonfly Whispers Artistic Creations 💫🩶

Hi, I reviewed this once but since then I have been using it more and had to come back and say…. WOW not only does this epoxy keep me from having to totally suit up (haz-mat) to just rarely using a mask to no itchy burning rash!
And to say it is glass like finish is just being honest as this is exactly how it finishes. It is so easy to work with, from mixing with minimal bubbles to applying it and pouring to the finished projects that are amazing.
