7 Ways to Boost Your Creativity in 2020
Before anything else, the Counter Culture DIY family wants to wish you and your family a Happy New Year!
We hope you had a blast last year, as we are looking forward to a more positive and creative 2020! We thank you for being a part of our year and we wish for more years of creating beautiful together.
Looking for ideas to boost your creativity this 2020? Here are some of our recommendations:
- List your Goals
When you write a goal in your calendar, it will serve as a visual reminder. What do you want to achieve this year? Do you wish to become a full-time tumbler artist? Do you want to start your own business? A YouTube Channel perhaps? Writing down your goals is a good start.
- Networking
Join creative people like yourself. There are so many artist groups on Facebook. If you’re not a member of the Counter Culture DIY Artist Support group yet, join us! It’s a community for artists like you where you can learn tips and tricks to help you and your business. Feel free to ask questions; we have many friendly members willing to answer them. Newbies to resin can find valuable tips from the pro artists here.
- Go Outside Your Comfort Zone
Are you afraid of making glitter tumbler? A wood grain? Coasters? Do you think that you’re not good enough compared to other artists out there? Don’t worry, everyone has to start somewhere. But they did not stop doing what they loved to do. If you want to achieve something, this is the best time to do it. Stop thinking about what other people will say. Don’t surround yourself with negativity. Go! Do it!
- Create a Work Space
Find a space where you can work on your own, and where you feel free to express your creativity. Free up some space by removing unwanted furniture. Replace it with things that will inspire your creativity.
- Learn the Basics
Be inspired by pieces you see from other artists. It’s so refreshing getting new ideas from the works of others. Learn how they do their craft, try to imitate, then put your own spin on it. Ask questions and see how other artists sell their works.
- Keep Updated
Spend some time every day trying to see what’s new on the internet. Facebook, Instagram, Etsy & Pinterest are excellent sources. Always check them to get inspiration for your next projects. Check out YouTube too! You’ll learn how to do projects by watching video tutorials. Don’t forget to subscribe to our own YouTube Channel here to learn how to use our resin.
Whatever inspires you this new year, it’s essential to start doing what you’re passionate about. Procrastination is your enemy. Do big things in 2020!!
