How to Make Christmas Tree Ornament Using Artist Resin

If you haven’t set up your Christmas Tree yet, this is the best time to do it. Take out the tree, lights, and ornaments.  If you’re missing a few decorations, you don’t need to shop. You can create new ones with CCDIY Artists Resin. Here’s how:

Christmas Tree Ornament #1: Multi-Colored Ornament

  1. If you have an old glass ornament, remove any glitter using acetone. Wash with water and soap, then let dry.
  2. Mix 1:1 ratio of resin and hardener.  Divide the mixture into smaller amounts into three separate cups, depending on how many colors you want to use.
  3. In each small cup of resin, put a few drops of your favorite dispersion color or even mica pigments. Mix well.
  4. Pour the colors over the ornament.
  5. Don’t worry if the resin is drippy; it doesn’t have to be perfect. (Tip: To avoid runny resin, let it sit for 10 minutes before using).
  6. Apply another batch of resin on top of the previous one. Continue the process until you apply all your favorite colors.  If you wish to add glitter, do it while the resin is still tacky. Let it dry overnight.

Christmas Tree Ornament #2: Multi-Colored Ornament 2

  1. Start with a blank plastic or glass ornament.  Wash with water and soap, then let dry.
  2. Mix 1:1 ratio of resin and hardener. Divide the mixture into smaller amounts into three separate cups, depending on how many colors you want to use.
  3. In each small cup of resin, put a few drops of your favorite dispersion color or mica pigments.
  4. Drip different colored resins inside the ornament.  A pipette is handy for this step.
  5. Pick up the ornament and rotate it to make your design.
  6. Once all the inside surface is coated, pour out the excess resin. Let it dry overnight.

Christmas Tree Ornament #3: Gold and Silver Star

  1. Mix 1:1 ratio of resin and hardener.
  2. Put a few drops of dispersion color or mica pigment into the mixture. Blend well.
  3. Sprinkle gold and silver glitter in a star-shaped silicon mold.
  4. Pour the resin on top of the glitter. Let dry overnight.
  5. Remove from the mold and drill a hole for your ribbon or string.

Place the caps back on the ornament.  Put a string on the star. Hang them on your tree and see how Christmassy they are!
