Description

Tsunami Dispersion Color is a concentrated, water-based liquid pigment for epoxy resin and creative mixed-media projects. It produces a powerful ocean-inspired shade for deep-water layers and dramatic aquatic resin art. Add a small amount for softer color or build gradually toward a solid, opaque result.

Unlike a transparent resin dye, Dispersion Color contains more pigment body, helping cover the surface or material beneath the cured epoxy. Use it with Original Artist Resin for art and coatings, or blend a small amount into Culture Sculpt moldable epoxy when a sculpted project needs custom color.

Best Uses for Tsunami

  • deep-water ocean pours
  • stormy coastal panels and wave scenes
  • bold aquatic geodes, coasters, and trays

How to Use Dispersion Color in Epoxy

  1. Shake the bottle thoroughly before use because concentrated pigment can settle during storage.
  2. Measure and mix the resin and hardener completely according to the epoxy instructions.
  3. Transfer the amount of mixed epoxy you want to color into a clean cup.
  4. Touch the end of a clean mixing stick to the pigment or add one small drop, then mix thoroughly.
  5. Evaluate the color before adding more. Continue in very small increments until the desired transparency or opacity is reached.
  6. Apply and cure the colored epoxy according to the resin formula's working-time, depth, and curing directions.

Tips for Consistent Color

  • Start with less pigment than you think you need; concentrated color is easier to add than remove.
  • Record the resin amount and pigment amount when matching a shade across multiple batches.
  • Test a small batch before coloring a large pour, especially when combining multiple shades.
  • Excess colorant can interfere with resin performance, so avoid adding more than necessary.

Frequently asked questions

What projects can I make with Tsunami Opaque Epoxy Pigment - 2 oz Dispersion Color?

Use this pigment for compatible resin art, tumblers, molds, mixed-media pieces and other craft projects described on the product page.

How much pigment should I use?

Begin with a small amount and build the effect gradually. The right amount depends on the medium, project size, desired opacity and the look you want.

Should I make a test sample first?

Yes. A small test helps you evaluate color, sparkle, transparency, dispersion and compatibility before committing to the full project.

Will the finished color match every screen exactly?

Screens, lighting, background color and batch variation can affect how a shade appears. Use the product photos as a guide and evaluate a physical test for color-critical work.
