UV Resin Curing Basics
UV resin performs best in thin layers where light can reach the complete resin area. Use clear layers around 1-2 mm (0.04-0.08 inch). Clear resin in a transparent mold can be applied up to about 3 mm (about 1/8 inch) per layer.
With both sections of the Counter Culture DIY 48W lamp operating, begin with an estimated 2-3 minute curing cycle. Resin depth, color, glitter, inclusions, lamp distance, wavelength, and mold transparency can all affect curing time. Continue with additional one-minute cycles until the resin is completely hard and non-tacky.
UV Resin or Two-Part Epoxy?
Choose UV resin for small, shallow projects, detail work, doming, and projects that need a controlled light-activated cure. For large coatings or deep molds, select a two-part coating or casting resin made for that application.
