Description

Hard Cast Deep Pour Epoxy Resin

Hard Cast is Counter Culture DIY’s clear deep-pour epoxy for thick, rigid castings. Use it when your project needs more depth, structure, and hardness than a standard casting resin.

The 2:1 formula is designed for pours approximately 1.5 to 2 inches deep per layer. It is an excellent choice for dice, pen blanks, business-card holders, decorative bowls, thick molds, embedded objects, floral castings, and functional resin art.

Why Choose Hard Cast?

• 2:1 mixing ratio by volume
• Recommended pour depth of approximately 1.5 to 2 inches per layer
• Produces a crystal-clear cast in approximately 24 hours
• Cures into a hard, rigid finished piece
• Suitable for thick molds and embedded objects
• Available as one correctly proportioned 1.5-gallon kit

What Can You Make With Hard Cast?

Hard Cast is recommended for:

• Resin dice and gaming pieces
• Pen blanks and business-card holders
• Decorative resin bowls
• Thick silicone molds and solid castings
• Embedded objects and layered artwork
• Sculpture pieces and functional resin decor
• Thick floral blocks and flower-preservation pieces
• Projects that need a hard, rigid finish

What Comes in the Kit?

The 1.5-gallon Hard Cast kit includes:

• 1 gallon of Part A
• 1/2 gallon of Part B

The two components are proportioned for a 2:1 mixing ratio by volume.

How to Use Hard Cast

1. Plan your project and determine how much resin your mold requires.
2. Measure two parts of Part A to one part of Part B by volume.
3. Mix slowly and thoroughly, scraping the sides and bottom of the mixing container.
4. Pour in layers approximately 1.5 to 2 inches deep. Mold dimensions, room temperature, total resin volume, colorants, and inclusions can affect the appropriate pour depth.
5. Allow the casting to cure undisturbed. Follow the product-label instructions before demolding, sanding, or polishing.

Hard Cast vs. Culture Cast

Choose Hard Cast when you need a slower deep-pour formula for thicker castings and a hard, rigid finished piece. It is the better choice for dice, pen blanks, bowls, thick molds, and floral pieces requiring pours up to approximately 1.5 to 2 inches.

Choose Culture Cast for wedding bouquets, memorial flowers, and other flower-preservation projects poured around 1 inch per layer when faster project turnaround is preferred.

Hard Cast FAQs

What is the Hard Cast mixing ratio?

Mix two parts of Part A with one part of Part B by volume.

How deep can I pour Hard Cast?

Hard Cast is designed for layers approximately 1.5 to 2 inches deep. Wider molds, larger resin volumes, warmer working conditions, colorants, and inclusions may require a thinner pour.

How long does Hard Cast take to cast?

Hard Cast is designed to produce a crystal-clear cast in approximately 24 hours. Actual results can vary with temperature, casting size, mold dimensions, and project conditions. Follow the product label before demolding or finishing the piece.

Can I use Hard Cast for flower preservation?

Yes. Hard Cast is suitable for properly dried flowers when the project requires a thicker casting. For flower-preservation pieces poured around 1 inch per layer, consider Culture Cast.

Is Hard Cast suitable for coating artwork?

Hard Cast is formulated for casting and deep-pour projects. For artwork, topcoats, and smooth glossy surface finishes, choose Artist Resin.
