Description

A foldable 48W UV lamp designed to cure UV resin from multiple directions. The Counter Culture DIY lamp uses two detachable light sections and clear shelves to create a flexible curing station for jewelry, keychains, transparent molds, doming, pens, ornaments, and other small UV-resin projects.

Use the lamp sections together for the full 48W configuration or position them separately when a project needs a different setup. Built-in 2-, 3-, and 5-minute timers make repeated curing cycles easier to manage.

Why Use a Dual-Sided Resin Curing Lamp?

  • Position light above and below transparent molds or flat projects
  • Cure small batches or multiple pieces within the covered area
  • Use the detachable sections together or separately
  • Select consistent 2-, 3-, or 5-minute timed cycles
  • Fold the lamp for compact storage between projects

Estimated UV Resin Curing Times

With both lamp sections operating in the 48W configuration, begin with 2-3 minutes for a thin, clear layer. When using one lamp section, begin with 4-5 minutes. Continue in one-minute cycles if the resin is not fully hard and non-tacky.

Cure time is affected by more than wattage. Resin depth, pigment, glitter, inclusions, mold transparency, lamp distance, LED placement, wavelength, and coverage all influence the result. Center the complete project under the light and keep resin layers thin.

How to Use the UV Lamp

  1. Connect the lamp sections using the included USB-C cords and a compatible 5V power source.
  2. Arrange the lamp and clear shelves for the size and shape of the project.
  3. Center the full resin area within the light coverage.
  4. Select a 2-, 3-, or 5-minute timer based on the layer and configuration.
  5. Inspect the resin after the cycle. Add one-minute cycles until completely hard and non-tacky.

Compatible Projects

This lamp is designed for UV-curable materials. Pair it with Counter Culture DIY Clear UV Resin for jewelry, keychains, doming, small transparent molds, and detailed craft work. New to UV resin? The UV Resin and Lamp Bundle includes both products.

Standard two-part epoxy does not cure from UV-lamp exposure; it cures through the measured reaction between resin and hardener.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does higher wattage guarantee a faster cure?

No. Wattage matters, but lamp wavelength, LED placement, distance, coverage, resin thickness, color, and inclusions also affect curing.

Can I use only one lamp section?

Yes. The sections are detachable. A single section generally needs more curing time than the full dual-lamp configuration.

Can this lamp cure resin inside an opaque mold?

UV light must reach the resin. Transparent molds and open surfaces are the most reliable choices; opaque molds can block curing light.

Lamp Safety

Do not stare directly at operating UV LEDs. Keep the light away from children and use it on a stable, dry surface. Follow the instructions supplied with the lamp and the safety directions for the UV-curable material being used.
