Original Fast Set Epoxy Resin for Tumblers and Quick Coatings
Original Fast Set Epoxy is Counter Culture DIY's 1:1 quick-cure coating resin for makers who need faster production without giving up a clear, high-gloss finish. Introduced in 2019, it is made for tumbler layers, pens, coasters, trays, and other thin coatings that need a short turnaround.
Choose Original Fast Set when you want to recoat in as little as 1.5-2 hours. It gives you approximately 5-10 minutes of working time and reaches full cure in about 24 hours under normal room conditions.
Why Makers Choose Original Fast Set
- Fast recoat time: apply another layer in as little as 1.5-2 hours under normal conditions
- Short working time: approximately 5-10 minutes
- 1:1 mix ratio: equal parts Part A and Part B by volume
- Full cure: approximately 24 hours at room temperature
- High-gloss coating: designed for smooth, clear finishing layers
- Heat resistance: up to 500°F (about 260°C)
Best Uses for Fast Set Epoxy Resin
- Tumblers, drip cups, and production runs
- Pens and small coated accessories
- Coasters, trays, and thin decorative surfaces
- Small art pieces and last-minute orders
- Projects that need multiple coating layers completed quickly
Original Fast Set vs. Artist Resin vs. Turbo
Choose Original Fast Set when you want a proven fast-setting epoxy with a 5-10 minute work window and a 1.5-2 hour recoat time.
Choose Artist Resin when you want approximately 25-40 minutes to place, spread, and refine a standard art or coating layer.
Choose Fast Set Turbo for a specialized polyaspartic final coating with 5 minutes or less working time and a dry-to-touch time of about 55 minutes. Turbo is not epoxy and follows different application rules.
Fast Set is not a casting resin. For deep molds, flower preservation, or encapsulation, shop the casting resin collection.
How to Mix and Apply Fast Set Epoxy
- Prepare the surface and all tools before mixing because the work window is short.
- Measure equal volumes of Part A and Part B. Mix at least 2 fl oz total (about 59 mL).
- Mix thoroughly, scraping the sides and bottom of the cup.
- Apply promptly in a thin, even coating and allow it to cure undisturbed.
- Follow the product label before handling, recoating, or placing the finished project into service.
Use the resin coverage calculator to estimate coating volume. Seal porous or decorated surfaces with a thin layer of Quick Coat when appropriate, and allow it to dry according to its directions before applying Fast Set. For technique help, review the step-by-step tumbler epoxy guide.
Important Application Limits
- Use Fast Set for thin coating work, not deep pours or thick molds.
- Because the reaction develops heat quickly, do not mix large batches or apply excessive thickness.
- Fast-curing epoxy can show more amber color than slower formulas, so test first on white, very pale, or color-sensitive designs.
