 The Pumpkin Spice Phenomenon

Pumpkin spice has taken the world by storm, and it’s easy to see why. This aromatic blend evokes memories of family gatherings, crisp autumn days, and the comforting embrace of fall traditions.

From lattes to candles, pumpkin spice is synonymous with seasonal joy. It’s not just a flavor; it’s a feeling, a celebration of all that we love about this cozy time of year.

Pumpkin Spice Tumblers: Capturing Fall’s Essence

Creating tumblers with a pumpkin spice theme is a brilliant way to tap into this beloved trend. They’re more than just containers; they’re a canvas for expressing your love for the season. Plus, they make great gifts for fellow pumpkin spice aficionados and are sure to be a hit at fall markets and craft fairs.

Designing Your Perfect Pumpkin Spice Tumbler

Ready to infuse your tumblers with that autumn magic? Here are some tips to help you get started:

  • Warm Color Schemes: Think rich, earthy tones like burnt orange, deep red, and warm brown. These colors not only mimic the hues of fall but also complement the pumpkin spice vibe perfectly.

  • Seasonal Graphics: Incorporate fall-themed graphics like pumpkins, leaves, or even a steaming cup of pumpkin spice latte. These elements can instantly transform an ordinary tumbler into a festive autumn accessory.

  • Personalization: Add a personal touch by including names, initials, or even a favorite pumpkin spice quote. Customization makes each tumbler unique and adds sentimental value for the recipient.

  • Texture and Finish: Consider using a matte finish for a cozy feel or adding a touch of sparkle to mimic the warmth of autumn sunlight. Experimenting with different textures can create a visually appealing and tactile experience.

Pumpkin spice tumblers resonate with us because they capture the spirit of the season in a portable, everyday item. Whether you’re sipping your morning coffee or enjoying an afternoon tea, these tumblers provide a comforting reminder of everything we love about fall.

They’re not just practical but also a stylish way to celebrate the season, making them a favorite among customers who cherish autumn traditions.

Step By Step Instructions

  • Start by lightly sanding your cup with sandpaper to scuff it up a bit. Then wash and dry it to remove any debris.

  • Next, give the mug a coat or two of the Pure White Pop of Color Paint. While it is still wet, sprinkle on the Uluru glitter and then let it dry.
  • Give the tumbler a coat or Quick Coat to seal in your glitter.
  • Next, mix up a batch of Fast Set or Fast Set Turbo according to the package instructions. Measure equal amounts of Parts A and B. Then pour part B into part A and mix well for 3-5 minutes. Be sure to scrape the sides and bottom of your cup as you go, as well as your mixing stick. This ensures that all of your epoxy will be well incorporated.

  • Use a gloved finger to apply a thin layer the combined resin to your tumbler. Let it cure.
  • Meanwhile, print your label out on your waterslide paper. Heather chose the dimensions 3 inches wide x 3 ¾ inches tall, but you can switch yours up to your desired length and width!
  • After two hours, apply your sealed and cut out waterslide to your project, making sure to get all the water out from under your waterslide to prevent any air bubbles.
  • Finally, apply one to two more layers of combined Artist Resin until your tumbler is nice and smooth. Let it cure and your pumpkin spice tumbler is ready to use!

Step by Step Instructions by Heather Bishop of Countryside Tumblers

  • Start off by making sure your topper is completely clean. I wash and completely dry mine with regular dish soap and water. Then, I take off the sliding piece where the straw goes so it does not get in the way.
  • Take one cinnamon stick from your container and cut it carefully in half with a knife. Set this aside.
  • Take the tip of your disposable piping bag and cut just enough of the tip off the baggie to insert your piping tip into it without it popping out. Cut small amounts off at a time if this is your first time playing around with a piping bag and tip, you can always cut more off but cannot add more back on!
  • Once the piping tip is secured into the bag, place it into a larger cup and hang the bag over the edges of the cup. This will make it so much easier to scoop the mixture into your bag with only one set of hands later, trust me!!
  • For the whipped topping, I used Fast N’ Final Lightweight Spackling. You can get it at any local hardware store. You will want to scoop some out (a little goes a long way. Especially if you are only doing one cup at a time) and put it in your plastic cup.
  • Take your white acrylic paint Or White Snow Dispersion Color and add just a touch of paint to your spackle. You do not need enough to make the spackle runny. You want it to remain the consistency of icing. Just a “smidge” as I say will do the trick because the white paint is really there to help color the spackle and brighten it up.
  • Next get to mixing and whipping. This is where you get your upper body arm workout for the day! Get everything incorporated and get that spackle whipped thoroughly well. When it goes from looking like spackle to looking like a tub of icing, you know you’re ready…only just don’t eat it….because it's not really icing!!
  • Put the mixture into the piping bag and push all the air out of the bag as you work the mixture down to the tip. Just like with regular icing, this helps reduce air bubbles when you’re piping.
  • Then take your lid, and I start first by going around the whole lid once (leaving your straw hole open). Then I start piping my whipped cream up and stacking it on top of each other until I got to the height I liked.
  • There is no right or wrong way. Just go until you’re happy with it! But move fast! Remember this stuff likes to dry quickly! If your tip gets clogged, grab your toothpick and jam it in the tip to unclog where it has dried and keep pushing along.
  • Once you have the height you want and are happy with your topping, grab your cinnamon sticks you cut and carefully insert them into your whipped topping.
  • Dust cinnamon powder over the top and allow it to fully dry for 5-7 days. *Note* Some people like to epoxy over their toppers but I chose not to on this one because I really liked how natural the matte finish looked for the topper. The cinnamon sticks will not mold over time (cinnamon sticks are made from tree bark) so with proper maintenance they will be fine! These toppers can also be made into removable toppers as well!
